Dayton PD respond to shooting on the West Side

Police are responding to a report of a shooting in West Dayton.

Officers responded at approximately 8:54 p.m. to the area of West Stewart Street and Danner Avenue.

Early reports indicate the victim is a female. She was taken to the Miami Valley Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound, according to communications with the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

A News Center 7 crew is en route and will provide updates to this breaking story.

Crews respond to house fire in Miamisburg

Crews are responding early this evening to a house fire in the 200 block of Suttman Street.

Thick smoke could be seen for miles rising into the air at the location starting at around 6:30 p.m.

The fire appears to have started in the rear of the home.

Neighbor James Robinson said the owners were not home at the time, but nearby residents who called to report the fire knocked on the door to make sure no one was home.

“There was a propane tank next to the fire. That’s when I went back inside because it looked a little dangerous,” Robinson said. “Luckily a firefighter came and pulled that aside fairly early.”

Police are asking the public’s help to track down a woman accused of using a stolen credit card at several area stores.

Fairborn police on Wednesday evening released surveillance photos that show a woman, who appears to be in her 20s or 30s, using the card at a store on Sunday, May 16.

The woman, who in the photo has long dark hair, left the store in what police believe is a light blue or silver four-door sedan, possibly a Buick.
